Instructions for the Lacrosse Bad Pass Drill

Lacrosse players are going to throw bad passes. Therefore, you need to practice catching difficult passes. If you can catch a bad pass, you will prevent a turnover, give yourself a chance to score and/or make yourself look like a stud for catching a wild pass with one hand!

For other passing techniques & drills, please see the main Lacrosse Passing section.

Instructions for Technique

  • You should focus on catching poorly thrown passes (i.e. too high or low left).
  • Practice with a partner or practice against a wall.
  • Throw the ball anywhere within reach. However, try not to pass to the partner's "optimal" receiving area (i.e. by their right ear).
  • You can add lacrosse fakes to make things even more difficult.
