Riser Shot or Elevator Shot - Lacrosse Shooting Technique

A lacrosse riser shot (or elevator shot) is an advanced shooting technique that involves shooting underhand or with a low sidearm and the ball "rising" from this low position to score in the top of the net. The trajectory of the ball is low to high.

Given the low start of the shot, this lacrosse shooting technique can be difficult control. However, due to the change in planes (low to high), it is also difficult for a goalie to accurate judge where the ball is being aimed. This technique can be alternated with "worm burners" (low to low underhand shots) in order to further confuse the goalie.
